Danergous set me on a mission to read thro my old classic mags in search of tips for making triumphs go fast. British Bike mag featured a Bonnie from FD motorcycles. The Bonnie had the 650 crank balanced the most importantly the rest of the bike was blue printed and the success is due to attention to detail when assembling, electronic an ignition and 11/2 amals. Running gear APs and Avon road runners, Dangerous is going the more modern route with Grimeca and avon road riders, and a tuned set of pipes. There are some classic quotes in this art ice from December 89
GK Chesterton “ Real development is not leaving things behind, as on the road but drawing life from them ”
Andy from FD Motorcycles “ I build my bikes to thrash them”

FD are still going just google them.

Ultrasonic Cleaner
and it worked and saved me a £100, now Eric the builder swears by the Amal MK2 and puts its on all his racing bikes, goldie, velo even a duke, yet the day for the shed build was saved by Dr Gear Head and his ultrasonic cleaner. There is a clear line here between new shiny and shed build. I just like jumping over the line.

Wednesday Club Day out
So the wednesday family outing to Newark jumble, Welding boy, Dr Gearhead, Fecking Gordie and me. When I was running triumphs in the 80s there were jumbles every weekend and you didnt have to travel far to get what you wanted, all good second hand parts. If you wanted new you went to Wilemans. These days there is lots of junk and sunday market stuff. I picked up a few bits which covered the entrance fee
I spotted the matchy and knew straight way whos it was, and sure enough we bumped it to Chris and Carl, and spent a good half hour catching up, top guys. Just after we saw the two PB stars, I had my copy to get it signed, but Tim_Dog was too focused on buying stainless bolts, may be another time.

Gear Head
I sold and the BMW to Damon the Gear Head and this is what he's doing with it, I'm really glad that it's gone to someone who has cut it up!
Here we are again third night trying to get the Miller cycle started, so called after Les Miller and its about as stubborn as Les was !
The thinking now is that the carb air ways are blocked with a bit of shit which is drifting around, now because the air ways are drilled and plugged it very difficult to get it out. So we are first trying carb cleaner then Ultrasonic

Midlands Trials
We try to get the New day trials every year, this year there was a massive turn out of riders and some new bikes, see the little red framed Triumph, from just the front end you could be mistaken into thinking it was a rigid. It was a beauty, looks like a custom made frame, its not a Faber because of the separate oil tank, the petrol tank is a work of art. I didn't get chance to speak with the rider, its not that they aren't approachable, but when they riding the stages they are so focused you don't want to tap them on the shoulder.
